So this is my online travel-blog so that those interested in keeping up to date with me can do so, without recieving forwarded emails (afterall, my Mother still has a little trouble telling the difference between "reply to" and "reply all"). Anyhow, feel free to pass this on to anyone you think might be interested.

Toasting Challah on a Space Heater (or, What Will The French Think of Next???)

Another of Dov
Originally uploaded by ManualLabor.
I really do like Dov. A lot. But I am asking for a new room tomorrow. I have had enough. Tonight I was jamming with another guitar player in the room, Scott. Anyhow, Dov had mentioned that he was going to watch a movie in the room with about 10 people, and I told him no, that I was going to sleep.

After I was done playing guitar and said I was going to sleep (note: he never asked nor made any sort of motion that I should stop playing guitar), he said it was movie time. I told him that it was not movie time, it was sleep time (it was nicer than that...). He argued and argued and said that all I ever want to do is sleep (and compared to them, this is true). Well, I informed him that I would be looking for a new room.

ugh.

Anyhow, I've gotten some request to provide information on what the kibbutz does (i.e. what it produces). Here is the list that I know of so far:

1. Disposible allumnum pans
2. Alluminum cans
3. Foil
4. Expensive Parrots
5. Dairy
6. Chickens
7. Flowers

This is what I know so far... I'll share more as I discover more...

hope everyone is well... (there are 5 other new pictures, btw)

OK, so you have repeatedly mentioned that one of your two roommates' name is Dov. You have never mentioned the other's name. Is this because you don't know what it is? Dad

Happy Chankuah, Daniel. I thought your 'amazing' moment was very cool--yesterday when you realized that you only knew it was Christmas when you read a friend's email mentioning Christmas Eve plans. You're not in Kansas anymore (or was that Missouri?).

p.s. love the photos but let's see some of the kibbutz.

Daniel, now that you've managed/stumbled into avoiding manual labor as your dad predicted, will you be changing the name of your blog? I've been enjoying reading about your experiences and your commentaries. Good job with the titles for each installment! Glad to hear things are off to a good start on the kibbutz. -- Jon Lomartire

Thanks for the kibbitz about the kubbutz. The parrots sound interesting but I'd like to hear more about the aluminum pans :)

Sparky wants to know more about your parrot operation. Do your parrots have pugs to feed them bagels and cream cheese every morning? If not, it may be a case of parrot abuse and he'll personally turn your kibbutz in. You know how cranky he is.

Actually, it's the parrots who feed the pugs, and the humans who feed the parrots. I just reminded Sparky, a bird-brain if ever there was one. Sparky said: "What difference does it make? Just make sure your parrots get their bagels and cream cheese--should be easy on a kibbutz."
